# Ideogram v4.5

Ideogram's most precise editing model. It changes only what you ask for, so colors, textures and details hold across repeated edits.

## Overview

Ideogram v4.5 is Ideogram's latest model, built for iterative editing. It changes only what your prompt asks for and leaves the rest of the image intact, so you can run edit after edit without the visual drifting.

### Strengths for marketers

* **Damage-free multi-pass edits**: Colors, textures and fine detail hold across repeated edits.
* **Prompt-scoped changes**: Anything your instruction doesn't mention stays as it was.
* **Reference-guided edits**: Use additional reference images to bring in a product, a material or a pose.

### Ideal use cases

* **Product imagery**: Swap a colorway, a material or a background while the product stays untouched.
* **Campaign variations**: Branch several edits off one master visual.
* **Scene restyling & pose changes**: Restyle a set, or adjust a pose guided by a reference.

### Weaknesses

* **Not built for 4K**: Outputs top out at 2K. For native 4K, use [Flux 3 Image](/models/image-models/flux-3-image.md).
* **Not a layout tool**: For composing many elements from scratch, [Flux 3 Image](/models/image-models/flux-3-image.md) (bounding boxes) or [Ideogram v4](/models/image-models/ideogram-v4.md) (structured prompts) give more control.

## How to use effectively

#### Key principles

* **State the change, and only the change.** "Change the jacket to navy wool" works better than re-describing the whole image.
* **One edit per pass.** Chain edits rather than stacking several changes in one prompt.
* **Use references for what's hard to describe.** An exact material, a specific product or a target pose lands better as an image than as words.
* **Name what must stay, when it's at risk.** "Keep the logo and the label text unchanged."
